  • U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
    A commission of the federal government charged with enforcing the provisions of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, the Equal Pay Act of 1963, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and other fair employment practices legislation. Purdue University is subject to these regulations and this commission.

  • National Employment Lawyers Association
    NELA is the country's only professional organization that is exclusively comprised of lawyers who represent individual employees in cases involving employment discrimination and other employment-related matters. NELA and its 67 state and local affiliates have more than 3000 members.

  • Colorado Civil Rights Division
    The Colorado Civil Rights Division (CCRD) is charged with enforcing the State's Anti-Discrimination laws in the areas of employment C.R.S § 24-34-402, housing C.R.S. § 24-34-502 and public accommodation C.R.S. § 24-34-602. The Division also engages in preventative measures by providing training to groups and information to individuals regarding current laws. The CCRD works in close cooperation with federal and local agencies and community-based organizations whose missions parallel its own. The CCRD maintains formal work-sharing agreements with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to avoid duplication of effort on those cases where joint jurisdiction (state and federal) exists.

  • Colorado Judicial Branch
    The Colorado Judicial Branch joins the Legislative and Executive branches to form the government for the State of Colorado. The Judicial Branch is charged with two responsibilities: resolving disputes and supervising offenders on probation. The Branch includes the Colorado Supreme Court, Colorado Court of Appeals, and district and county courts, served by 262 justices and judges in 22 judicial districts across the state (excluding 17 Denver county court judges). Municipal courts are not part of the state system. There are also seven water courts, one in each of the major river basins.
